FAME!

The Danger of FAME!

Fame! This is something that many people desire. They want to be known; they want to be popular.

But it comes at a cost and has lots of burdens.

The good part of fame is that it makes you exert lots of influence – consciously or unconsciously on many people. Many people see you as a role model and desire to be like you. It comes with the huge price of robbing the famous of the freedom of changing their lifestyle especially for those I tag as ‘Negative Fame’.

My emphasis therefore will be on what I title the danger of Negative Fame to your eternity.

It’s no longer news that all men live to die. And after death judgement follows¹.

While deciding the route any man wants to follow, the best is to live life in retrospect. Travel to the point of your entrance to eternity, see what each of the routes offers and then make a wise decision on the path to take.

Remember, there is a way that looks nice to a man, but the end of it is death².

Today, I want to let you know that while being famous is something to be desired, it is better to be famous doing the right things, than doing the wrong things. Most importantly, it’s better to be ‘famous’ doing things that have eternal value.

As a man tries to rise to certain levels of life, so many negotiations begin to happen, many of them unverbalized.

You begin to decide what to spend most of your time, energy, and resources on. Compromises begin to be made and these often happen unconsciously. Obviously oblivious that these actions and decisions have been influenced in one way or the other by some spirits. Then comes the time, that in the quest to rise to higher levels of influence and fame, the real negotiation of allegiance MUST happen.

Let’s use secular music as an example. Most music stars practically sold their souls to the devil for Fame. Most have confessed to it both in their music and interviews.

The problem with this type of fame is that it is in exchange for one’s soul and therefore hell bound.

This is a difficult entanglement to get out of.

You know you are hell-bound and yet can’t do anything about it. Not because if you do that God will not accept you, but because you just cannot do it because of the level of entanglement you have gotten into. The pressure from society, what will people say, my investments, my business, my reputation etc.

While it’s Ok to be famous, choose wisely the way up that you are taking because you may never be able to change it again due to the deception of riches and the world system.³

Satan always seeks a worship. He will always request worship from you so he can give you the ‘world’. That’s been his strategy, the same he used for Christ ‘bow before me and I will give you the whole world and the glory.’⁴

If the world is this massive and important, why will Satan be willing to give it to you for just a ‘worship’, an allegiance, a bowing?

So, I ask you today to be wise.

This applies to every human being on earth. Every decision to go up requires a compromise. There are so many negative forces out there, presenting these compromises in little good-looking packages, sent through innocent looking people and institutions. Learn to tell yourself the simple truth. Convince yourself to live only by the standard of the word of God. If it contradicts what God says to do, tell yourself – “I’m NOT doing it”.

LORD JESUS, I believe that you are the son of God. Thank you for dying in my place and rising again from death for my salvation and justification. Today, I confess you as the Lord of my life. I ask that your cleansing blood wash away my sins and make me clean before the Father.
Thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit, who enables me live victoriously everyday and to bring me spotless into your kingdom and eternal rest.
Thank you for the gift of my salvation.
