Hebrews 11:4
By faith Abel brought God a better offering than Cain did. By faith he was commended as righteous, when God spoke well of his offerings. And by faith Abel still speaks, even though he is dead.
Abel saw God before and when he was sacrificing.
He was conscious of the reality, majesty, and presence of God, therefore could go all the way in reverence to select the best and present same with dignity unto God.
Cain on the other hand went about his, casually. Behaving as if God did not really matter or exist, and so did not accord much respect to God and the sacrificing process.
In our everyday life, the way we respond to divine instructions and interactions is a verdict to our perception of God and a demonstration of our faith.
If you must see to believe or have to be supervised to do the right thing/give your best everyday, then you are not living by faith. You must strive to be the best version of yourself everyday, because this is what you are created for.
Remember, without faith, you cannot please God. It is God’s desire for you to succeed. But tenacity on the right path is required for excellence.
Life, most times, will answer with plenty of ‘NOs’ before a ‘YES’. So to be excellent, you must keep putting your best everyday with the conviction that God will crown your work/efforts with victories and the desired results.
The power of faith is such that it needs no substance or reference to any other thing to create something excellent. The Bible said
By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.
Hebrews 11:3
So, faith basically is what you do in response to God’s word and in reverence to God.
In conclusion, to sincerely walk by faith, you need to learn to discern God’s voice accurately to be sure that the steps you are taking are actually what He wants you to, of which you can base giving your best on.
Shalom!
