And [I pray] that the eyes of your heart [the very center and core of your being] may be enlightened [flooded with light by the Holy Spirit], so that you will know and cherish the hope [the divine guarantee, the confident expectation] to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints (God’s people),
Ephesians 1:18(AMP)
God’s kingdom we have become a part of by redemption/new birth is a kingdom of wealth, riches and awesome splendor.
But many, who has received this new life of the kingdom do not know what has become theirs and what right they now have by this new status and so still live in abject poverty, lack, deprivation and oppression.
Once you see, you take! You understand! And you accelerate!
Just like when you walk into a darkroom, no matter the treasures in that room, as far as you can’t see, you will not appreciate it. You will not be able to maximize what is available and may even stumble in it. But once there is light in the room, you see what is available and so maximize in the kingdom of God.
The kingdom of God is a kingdom of mysteries. But it has been given to us who are born again to understand these mysteries.
The Holy Spirit is the one that opens the eyes of our understanding when we come into the kingdom and allows us to see our true self in line with our redemptive packages and what we have inherited by becoming the children of God.
This kingdom we have been brought into is one full of riches, but you must see to partake of it.
Go for the enlightening of your eyes of understanding, ask the Holy Spirit.
Turn this verse(Ephesians 1:18) to a personal prayer until it becomes your personal reality.
The personalized prayer will be something like this;
Father, cause the eyes of my understanding to be enlightened, that I may know what the hope of Christ’s calling on my life is, and what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints is.
Thank you Jesus, Thank you precious Holy Spirit.
