He that Overcomes

The battle against the spirit of sin and iniquity is a real battle.

The fight to remain clean before God is the most intense of all battles of life. The urge to watch pornography, to commit fornication, to tell lies, to steal etc. are all valid everyday battles you must win.

One of Satan’s strategies is to hide the fact that this is war. He makes you feel at ease, hence the reason the Scripture says not to be ignorant of his devices.

lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices

2 Corinthians 2:11

When you read the messages Jesus sent through John to the Seven churches in Revelations Chapters 2 and 3, you’d discover that the messages have one primary purpose – to ensure that the Church is ready for His return – in righteousness and holiness. But He ended all of them with the statement

‘He who overcomes…’

Revelation Chapter 2 verses 7,11,17 and 26 Chapter 3 verses 5,12 and 21

This goes to show you that it is a real battle we are in. God knows it, Satan know it, you may be the only one that is not aware of it.

Satan’s real target is not your money or health or whatsoever physical thing you may be desirous of. His main target is your soul, to deprive you of an eternity with God.

Man is eternal in nature, but human beings are not. By the verdict on disobedience because of Adam’s sin, every man must put off this clothing called flesh, that gives us the permission to operate on earth. This is just the beginning of the eternal journey of man.

The determining factor for the option of eternity of any man is his choice of either sin or salvation.

• Sin, leading to death – Hell.

• Salvation, leading to life – Heaven.

This death, which is a product of sin is not a state of unconsciousness – where one becomes unaware of happenings around him/her as it applies to earthly death, where the dead body is not aware and does not respond to happenings in the environment. Here, we are talking of a place of eternal torment and punishment, an eternal seperation from God.

If this eternal life is not superior and desirable, Satan, the devil won’t need to fight to deprive you of it. He prides himself on deception.

Remember his mission statement is to –

‘Steal, kill and destroy’ -John 10:10^a,

yet he offered Jesus to give him the whole world in exchange for a minute worship.

Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;  And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

Matthew 4:8-9

He is willing to offer you anything good enough to get you to worship him in any form…. because he knows that your soul is worth much more.

Jesus gave a clear insight by asking-

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

Mark 8:36

Satan’s main strategy is deception. The same way he deceived(beguiled) Eve, he makes you feel at ease in battle. The same strategy that Delilah used on Sampson. His activity is most potent when hidden, hence his operation in darkness – your ignorance.

My dear, be awake to the truth that every day is a day of battle and stop resting on your oars. Fight off the forces of uncleanliness that wants to defile you and make you unworthy of standing before God and then every of there expression designed to make you lose your real prize – eternal life with God in heaven.

He has no respect for your title or how far you have gone with the Lord. Even after having a one-on-one session with the Father, even after being a world acclaimed mouthpiece of God, he still believes he can still deceive you and beguile you to miss your heavenly crown.

This is why the scripture says-

 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

1 Corinthians 10:12

He says to-

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

1 Peter 5:8

Therefore, a determined and conscious approach to stay connected to your source – God, and to remain a child before Him and to ALWAYS listen and obey Him is the only way to win.

The good part of this is that we have a helper, who has all it takes. He is the Holy Spirit – our comforter, guide, and teacher. Without accepting His guidance, you cannot make it to the end.

In conclusion, there is a crown of life that awaits you at the end of this journey. Give up whatever will rob you of this crown and press, not by might nor by power, but by allowing the Holy Spirit to help you.

Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.

Zechariah 4:6

The easiest way to get Him to help you is to ask Him to. Request for His help in prayers. His help comes in different ways, but you can trust that He is an ever-present help. He knows what you need per time -wisdom, power, riches etc., just submit to His guidance and obey Him, that way you will make it safely to the shores of the beautiful city, the new Jerusalem.

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Hebrews 4:16

Remember, you don’t choose your eternity, rather you choose who to follow or obey and this choice will determine your eternity. You can choose to make today the day you’ll start your Journey of Life with the Life Himself – Jesus Christ.

Please pray with me this way;

LORD JESUS, I believe that you are the son of God. Thank you for dying in my place and rising again from death for my salvation and justification. Today, I confess you as the Lord of my life. I ask that your cleansing blood wash away my sins and make me clean before the Father.
Thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit, who enables me live victoriously everyday and to bring me spotless into your kingdom and eternal rest.
Thank you for the gift of my salvation.
